Mission: The mission of the Snider Dance Program is to cultivate a safe, inclusive family where every dancer feels an absolute sense of belonging. We empower our athletes to ask questions, embrace vulnerability, and actively grow their technical knowledge and lifelong love for dance. By fostering an environment of mutual respect and high standards, we inspire our dancers to achieve greatness both on the stage and in their everyday lives.
Our Goals
-
Goal 1: Elevate Technical Excellence
-
The Focus: Increasing technique.
-
Action Plan: Implement a structured, progression-based technique curriculum across all squads (Varsity and JV). Track individual growth through quarterly technical evaluations and utilize video review sessions to break down alignments, turns, and synchronization.
-
-
Goal 2: Build a District-Wide Pipeline
-
The Focus: Connecting with feeder middle schools.
-
Action Plan: Establish an annual "Future Panthers" middle school clinic or invite local middle school dancers to perform alongside the team at a home game. Partner with middle school athletic directors to promote dance opportunities early.
-
-
Goal 3: Drive Program Growth & Advocacy
-
The Focus: Growing the program and earning recognition as a sport.
-
Action Plan: Showcase the team’s intense athletic conditioning alongside artistic performance to change outside perceptions. Increase school-wide visibility through community performances, strong social media presence, and engagement in school athletic pep rallies to prove that dance is a powerhouse sport worthy of funding and fan support.
-
Goal 4: Cultivate a Safe Space of Mutual Trust & Support
-
The Focus: Creating an environment where dancers feel safe with you and with each other to ask questions, take creative risks, and grow.
-
Action Plan: Establish a team culture rooted in empathy, where mistakes are treated as essential steps in the learning process rather than failures. Actively break down cliques by pairing different dancers for choreography workshops and peer feedback sessions. Implement a peer-mentorship program ("Big Sister/Little Sister" or veteran/rookie pairings) to ensure newer dancers have an immediate, trusted teammate to turn to for guidance, building a network of unconditional support across the entire roster.
