Attendance Policy

As members of the Mighty Panther Marching Band, our students are part of a team where success comes from putting the group’s goals above the individual’s. Because of this, attendance at all rehearsals and performances is expected.
I understand that absences may occasionally occur. Parents and guardians (not the student) should email Mr. Farr directly to report an absence. While reporting an absence does not automatically excuse it, consistent communication helps us better plan our rehearsals as well as maintain the accountability and integrity of the group. Emergencies do happen, and in those cases, please email Mr. Farr as soon as you are able.
If your child must miss a performance, please email Mr. Farr at least two weeks in advance of the expected absence.

ParentSquare is also an acceptable method of communication.

Consequences for Absences

-
Unexcused absences from rehearsals: Students will lose participation points for that day and may be held out of upcoming performances.
-
Unexcused absences from performances: Missing a performance without prior communication may affect a student’s standing in the ensemble, including performance eligibility, loss of leadership responsibilities, or other appropriate consequences.
-
Excessive tardies or absences: Continued unexcused absences or tardies may affect a student’s standing in the ensemble, including performance eligibility, loss of leadership responsibilities, or other appropriate consequences.
Missing rehearsals not only affects the student who is absent, but also impacts the rest of the band. Thank you for helping us uphold these expectations so our students can thrive together as a program.
